I believe quite strongly in value propositions. This is not to be misinterpreted as "cheap" or "stingy" or any other smarting adjective that, if thrown, splatters ones image with some trailer trash goo. I simply feel that what I pay needs to be at least equal to what it is worth to me so I can fully enjoy the value an item brings me. Usually I protest strongly against brand names unless they meet the value equation squarely with a fashion-function ratio that exceeds all my expectations - cole haan with nike air, anthropologie, kate spade, and now, perhaps, Valentino's Pret à Porter. Not a fashion idiom I was aware of - Pret à Porter means ready-to-wear or "off the rack." I'm sure that's a very bitter phrase to swallow by the fashion house icon Valentino even with its french swathing. All in all, I felt these pieces above- dress, blouse, and coat - might possibly meet this value proposition making me all the happier to include them here and revel in their simple yet cultured forms. All hail the wonders of the Valentino value propositions among us!
